How to configure Item Price Levels

Follow this guide to complete the task in xPower.

Configure Item Price Levels

XPower provides five additional price levels for an item. These levels allow businesses to maintain alternative selling prices for different pricing arrangements. Each level can be entered using a selling price or a discount percentage calculated against the normal Sales Price.

Before You Begin

  • Ensure you have access to Item Create.
  • Select an existing item or prepare the details of a new item.
  • Determine the normal Sales Price.
  • Prepare the additional selling prices or discount percentages required for each level.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Open Item Create.
  2. Select the item from Item List, or enter the information for a new item.
  3. Enter the normal Sales Price under General Details.
  4. Scroll to the section containing Price Level and Section/Location.
  5. Select Price Level.
  6. The price table displays Level 1 through Level 5.
  7. Choose Static or Dynamic.
  8. Enter the required Dis % or Price for each level.
  9. Review the calculated values.
  10. Click Save or Update, depending on whether the item is new or existing.

Understanding the Price Calculation

When you enter a discount percentage, XPower calculates the level price using the normal Sales Price.

Example: If Sales Price is Rs. 1,000 and the Level 1 discount is 10%, the calculated Level 1 price will be Rs. 900.

Similarly, changing a price-level amount recalculates its corresponding discount percentage.

Static and Dynamic Options

  • Static: The price-level amounts are not automatically recalculated by the Sales Price change handler.
  • Dynamic: When the normal Sales Price changes in the form, the five price-level amounts are recalculated using the entered discount percentages.

Confirm in the live XPower screen how the selected pricing mode is retained when reopening an item.

Important Rules

  • All five levels are initially displayed with zero values.
  • Discount percentages are calculated against the main Sales Price.
  • In Dynamic mode, changes to the Sales Price recalculate the level prices in the form.
  • The additional price values are included when an item is created or updated for the selected branches.
  • The saved price-level values may vary between branches depending on the values maintained for those branches.

Common Issues

  • Problem: Level prices are not recalculated after changing Sales Price. Check whether Dynamic is selected.
  • Problem: A calculated discount is incorrect. Verify the normal Sales Price and the entered level price.
  • Problem: A price level displays zero. Check whether an amount or discount percentage has been entered.
  • Problem: A branch displays a different level price. Review the item's saved details for that branch.

After Saving

The five additional selling-price values are saved with the applicable branch item information. They can be reviewed when reopening the item.
