Edit an Existing Item

Use the Item Create screen to update the information of an item already registered in XPower. You can modify its name, category, supplier, pricing, units, stock settings, barcode information, and other applicable item details.

Before You Begin

• You must have permission to access the Item Create page.
• Cost information is controlled by separate user permissions.
• Identify the item you want to update using its item code, name, or barcode.
• If updating information across multiple branches, confirm which branches should receive the changes.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Open Item Create.
2. Locate the Item List on the right side of the screen.
3. Use the Search field to find the required item.
4. Click the item's code or name to load its existing information.
5. Review the information displayed under General Details, Product Hierarchy, Price & Units, and Other Details.
6. Make the necessary changes to the relevant fields.
7. If required, update the item's barcodes, image, additional price levels, and other settings.
8. Review the selected branches. If cost prices, sales prices, or stock settings should also change in other branches, select the appropriate branch-copy options.
9. Click Update.
10. Once completed, XPower displays the message Record save successfully!

Important Rules

• Selecting an item from Item List loads its saved information into the form.
• The Update button is available after an existing item has been selected.
• Cost prices, selling prices, and minimum stock settings are maintained separately for individual branches.
• Updating the current branch does not automatically overwrite every other branch's prices.
• Changes to an existing item are recorded in the system's item-update history.
• If the item is assigned to a newly selected branch, the corresponding branch item record can be created.

Common Issues

• Problem: Update button is unavailable. Select an existing item from Item List first.
• Problem: An item cannot be found. Check the item code, name, and Active/Inactive filters.
• Problem: Prices remain unchanged in another branch. Review the selected branches and relevant price-copy options.
• Problem: Cost information is hidden. Contact your administrator to verify the applicable viewing permission.

After Saving

XPower updates the existing item information and the applicable branch-specific details. The updated values are available when the item is opened again.
