Update Item Selling Prices & Cost at Once
Follow this guide to complete the task in xPower.
Update Item Selling Prices and Costs
XPower allows you to maintain the purchase cost and selling price of individual items. For companies with multiple branches, prices and costs can be maintained separately for each branch. The Edit Price/Cost option helps users identify differences and apply the current branch's values to selected branches.
Before You Begin
- Ensure you have access to the Item Create screen.
- Cost information is available according to the user's cost-viewing permissions.
- Confirm the correct selling price and purchase cost before making changes.
- If your company maintains different branch prices, identify the branches that should receive the updated values.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Method 1: Update the Price of an Individual Item
- Open Item Create.
- Use Item List to search for the relevant item.
- Click the item to load its existing information.
- In General Details, modify Cost and/or Sales Price.
- Update any additional pricing information under Price & Units if required.
- Review the branch selection section.
- To copy cost changes to other selected branches, enable the option to save the cost price to all checked branches.

- Click Update.
Method 2: Use Edit Price/Cost
- Open Item Create.
- Click Edit Price/Cost.
- Select either Price Different or Cost Different from the Category dropdown.

Important Rules
- The Edit Price/Cost panel compares the current branch's values against the main item values.
- Displayed differences use rounded whole-number comparisons.
- Saving a row applies the relevant current-branch value to checked branches.
- The current branch is visually distinguished in the comparison table.
- Changing a cost or selling price in the item form may affect additional branch records when the relevant copy option is selected.
- If the cost exceeds the selling price, the item form displays a warning.
Common Issues
- Problem: An item does not appear in Price Different. The comparison may not identify a difference after rounding. Confirm in the live XPower screen.
- Problem: A branch price did not change. Check whether that branch was selected before saving.
- Problem: Cost information is unavailable. The logged-in user may not have cost-viewing permission.
- Problem: Cost is higher than sales price. Review both amounts before updating.
After Saving
The selected item prices or costs are updated in the applicable branch records. Reopen the item or comparison panel to review the saved values.
